Help Please. What parts were plated, choke stove, preheat tube, oil dip stick&tube, trans oil tube, etc? The throttle cable bracket looks like a brighter finish than the dip tubes, and I have no clue which heat shield(s) were originally plated, except one that has a bit of zinc(?) on a corner.

    Dipstick tube- engine red
Dipstick loop- bare(maybe original zinc plated)
heat riser attachment(screwed to drivers exhaust) silver cad or maybe Zinc
Accordian hose (that attaches to above) black paper coated over foil which you can find at autozone new just buy the biggest one they have and stretch to fit. the all foil ones are wrong.
The throttle cable bracket maybe red as most I have seen not sure on this one.
    Trans. dipstick/tube-bare or maybe silver/zinc

Thank you guys for your replies,I will add some info about this project as I seek more info for guidance on what was original and what is an acceptable finish for a stock appearing resto on a matching # car.The current owner is the second & fourth owner of this 70 stage 1.Roy bought the car in 73 from the son of the dealer who ordered it (for his son). Roy, now the second owner and in college drove the car with gusto and soon was having rod and main bearing noise, low oil pressure, you know, and well a local shop sold him an "overhaul",and then the car was sold once more. The new owner drove the car until it died, yes it died, and was parked inside a storage building for more than 25 years.Roy has bought the car back, doing a frame off,and I have the engine &trans job. Most all of the bolts were OE, the dist. had a swipe of overspray on the base, the oil dip tube was not painted, nor the throttle cable bracket. The coil bracket is plated, one heat shield has a trace of zinc? on both sides the other two do not,the auto trans tube has a darkish coating as does the oil tube. The dipsticks appear plated at the top.I would like to finish this job at a level that would please Buick connoisseurs and Roy,and any others, who may look over this car in the future and say, "oh my!!" Thanks again for your input.

You might get JW to help you as we just went through this in a concours resto.

I will do one and let others jump in. The choke plates were originally zinc di chromate but for durability a commercial grade gold cad will appear very close and last longer.

Here is what the long march to the finish line will yield:
