PLEASE HELP! q-jet advise

    so i have a 67 riv with a 4brl rochester #7027241 i started my riv in the last couple days and its runing but its not ideling properly and i need help .also i noticed that when i turn the car of i can hear fuel still runing down into the primary bores,sounds like trickel so with the choke valve open and a flash light in hand ,i can see the trickel any idea what is causing this to happen :Dou: i need this car to be running due to a problem wiTh the local law:spank: :af: . i posted a thread in the bench stating the problem im having.please help thank jose :Do No:

    This answer is going to be a pretty simple approach. The fuel run on is more likely due to a worn needle and seat. For the sake of cheap... you could try LIGHTY tapping (with a plastic screwdriver handle) on the fuel bowl ( front of carb) to see if it is just stuck from sitting for awhile. Otherwise replacing the needle and seat is not a big deal.

    If the needle and seat are stuck open this could explain the poor idle... too much fuel is running down the primaries.

    Another thought, when was the last oil change? If the oil is old and you've been working on it, it might be a cause for the poor idle character. Pull the dipstick and smell it. If it's all black and gassy change your oil.
