Ok, I'm posting this in the 400/430/455 street strip area too, in order to (hopefully) get a lot of help with this:

I have a 350 that I'm pulling from one of my cars to put in a 455, but I don't know if a few things will work.

Will the brackets (a/c alternator, p/s pump) transfer from a 350 to a 455, or will I need new brackets?

Also, I'm not changing trannies yet (but am having to change motor mounts to get the 455 to fit right), so will I have any problems bolting the 455 up to the th350 thats in there? I mean, I know they will bolt together, but I don't know if the 350 and 400 trannies will end up being in the same place.

Yeah, that's about it (or as much as I can think of right now). If anybody has done this, please let me know. This isn't for an a-body car by the way, but I really don't know if that matters for what I'm asking (just thought it might so I put it in )

    Thanks,
    Romy

I believe the accessory brackets may need to be changed. I think all the engines mounted in the same spot (as they relate to the transmission). Running the TH 350 for now should be no sweat. Keep the convertor with the trans and everything should be a bolt-up. When it comes time to swap in the TH400, the crossmember will need to slide back, and a shorter driveshaft is all you should need. I'm no expert, but that seems to be close to correct.
