Guys, it has been well over 2.5 years since producing my last group of stainless N25 tips. The original vendor I was using, lost his welder and the guys they hired to replace the old feller, were , well, lets just say, your 6 y/o daughter could've welded better. So, their failure to produce a new quality minded welder, led me to part friends after almost 20 years. I've been looking for a replacement vendor ever since. The problems I have found are threefold: 1. Finding a respectable LAZER OPERATED CUTTING vendor is a challenge, along with GOOD forming & welding personnel. (infusion welding stainless ON THIN EDGE is a delicate process) 2. Trying to convince vendors to MAKE A SET at my cost, to see IF they will meet my standards. 3. keeping the costs reasonable. Polished Stainless stock has increased over 2X since my last sets. I was never going to retire making stainless steel N25 tips, and at the previous $345 sale price, I was pocketing just a few dollars for all the time involved. I was trying to keep the new product costs under $395 but with the new CRAZY stainless prices, the retail costs will be close to $425 set for 2.5" or 3". AND even at that price, I will profit a whopping $22 per set. SO. . . . if you guys still want me to continue to research a production vendor, with a sale price of $425/set plus s&h, just reply here. I will consider all feedback extremely necessary and essential to moving forward or, not moving forward. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I can tell you Wheelz produces some very nice quality N-25 tips! You won't be disappointed in the quality.
pm me how much are paying for just polishing i got 32yrs experance i might be able to cut there price
THANK YOU for the offer Jr'sreatta however, there is already so little margin, shipping costs to and from your place, Im sure would only add to the already high production costs... BESIDES, polishing is NOT only polishing, it is carefully grinding the edges where the welding leaves ruff edges and THEN polishing begins. The better the welding job, the less grinding and polishing AND THAT, is where I am experiencing lack of "welding proficiency" in this market. . . .and THANK YOU Jim for the kind words! I understand shipping trying to help I know what you mean by preperation before polishing all the work i do is show quality. As you know in the restoration process some parts are not reproduced so i find myself straighten and removing dents that i dont think is possable when the owner shows it to me but i like a challange thanks for all you do in the Buick commuity
