Can you guys think of any adverse effects that I could encounter if I polished the timing cover on my 65 300?I ask because I think it would look really good against the Buick Green.

I can't think of any problems as long as you're just polishing the surface and not grinding into it or anything. It will probably be a pita getting to all the crevices but if your willing to spend that much time then go for it :TU: I've never heard of anyone doing this to a timing cover before.

I doubt there would be any effects if you just polished the outside of it.

I am trying to polish all the aluminum brackets too.The part I'm not sure about is what should I do with my steel brackets?Just paint them with aluminum paint or the color of the engine?I'm talking about the small part of the power steering bracket and the alternator bracket.Should I clearcoat the parts or put some Zoop seal on them?
    Thanks,
    Philip
