I seem to remember a thread about a POR 15 alternative in spray on application. I did a search and can not find it. Could some one point me in the right direction? Plus what is your experience with the alternative?

I like Chassis Saver or SEM Rust-sheild these are cost effective there is also Rust Bullet, Rust Encapsulator and a slew of others which I think are just the same repacked stuff  I painted a Rusty out door iron gate with all kinds of stuff customers bring in and after 5 years all of them are holding strong. If you prep it right All of these will hold up just fine.

    Thanks
I agree prep is the key.
I,m swapping the rearend and since it is all apart i want to paint it up. Everything is in great shape. Just look to see if there are any alternatives to POR.

    Rust Encapsulator

    Dave,
I have used Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator with real good results.
I sprayed a piece of metal that had scale rust, cleaning up only one half of
it. I treat the other side with phosphoric acid. I left it outside as a test to see how good this stuff works. After three months the encapsulator looks like the day I sprayed it. The side threated with just phosphoric acid has some surface rust trying to come back.

didn't Eastwood sell something called Corrorless(sp)? Is that the new rust encapsulator?

Yes--the Corroless is now the Rust Encapsulator.

Also--you guys are forgetting ZeroRust--another decent product and it comes in spray cans or in quarts, etc for a spray gun. Also has quite few colors available. This and Eastwood Encapsulator lean towards the flattish side of the gloss scale-definitely semi flat type paints so do a test area before you decide whether to use these as the final coatings.
