I have used Zero rust but in the Spray bomb varient. I bought it from the same place as mentioned above. I like the look. Look at this link and look at the firewall and frame pics. :TU:

    Por 15 application

I used Sherwin Williams out door black metal paint and spray gun to do the whole underneath frame, floorboard, suspension. After cleaning everything, it only takes a few minutes to paint.

I have been using the spray cans of zero rust and just recently bought a gallon of it to spray a trunk and engine compartment chassis area. I first purchased it at my local automotive supply store after finding out they have been using and selling it for a while with good results. It is so much easier to use than POR15 which I think is way over rated and over used as a cure all. To spray Zero rust I just thinned it 10% with thinner and it sprayed great out of my primer gun. It really is not nearly as thick as por15. You can get details about the product at zerorust.com. You can also scuff and prime/topcoat which is near impossible to do with por15. Jim

I've used the sponge brush for POR15. It lays down well and dries without marks (if you don't put it on too heavy).

I don't know if Zero Rust is like POR15, but I laid POR15 on with a brush, and it laid down flat and smooth. If you were to brush it while it was setting up, I could see an issue with marks. I didn't try it on any overhead surfaces though either (trunk and floor pans).

    Por15??

I've been using it.. a can goes a long way.... I've never had problems with brushmarks? I guess I wouldn't worry about brush marks under wheel wells.. I'd just spray over POR15 with ruberized undercoating and cover any lines or inperfections....

If you are going to top coat, and Zero Rust is like POR15, you'll want to lay the topcoat on while it's tacky! I spatter painted on dry POR15 in my trunk of my GS455, and it wouldn't adhere. I spatter painted on tacky POR15 in my trunk of my 72 Skylark, and won't let go! If it's dry, you may have to scuff it to top coat.

    But that's POR15.

Steve I used zerorust as a base for my trunk splatter paint. I did lightly scuff it before applying the trunk splatter paint. But I scuff any paint if it has set on an area longer than a few days. FYI: It does scuff easier than POR :TU:
