I think my heads out flow my intake ? heads flow 265 cfm @.500 exh. and 182 @.500 int. should i go with the sp1 or port my b4b?
The SP1 is only going to offer a distinct advantage in the upper rpm range, like over 5500 rpm. So if it's primarily street driven, and torque is what you want on the street, I'd stick with a dual plane for driveability. If it's top end HP numbers, than the SP1 is the intake for you.
I only went a tenth quicker even with a Stage 2 (low 10s) going from a ported and flowed B4B to a port matched Wildcat. So I say go with the B4B. Ported it will hang with a single plane up to 6000. Bruce
It has been stated before, unless you have 3.55 gears or lower you cant take full advandtage of the RPM range of the SP1. I went from a S divider to the SP1 and picked up a tenth, and did notice a power difference from 5000 rpm up.
looks like im going to have the b4b ported time to call mr phillips at AMP . Thanks for the replies DAVE H. :3gears: :3gears:
Too bad Edelbrock didn't make a Performer RPM Air gap rather than redoing the B4B but we'll take what we can get....and then modify/improve.
I do have to admit that I have one on my car right now. But I just bought a new Performer and will probably be having Gessler port match it to my heads and put on a Edelbrock #1910 850 cfm q-jet carb.
