Now that I have the engine running properly and those kinks worked out, I have another problem.

The posi on my 70 gsx won't lock. Its a 3:42 original rear end and I'd rather fix it than replace it. What would be the best way to get it to lock?

If the only way is to replace it, what other models carried the same 10 bolt 3:42 posi rear end?

The original posi unit was not servicable and if it went bad it was to be replaced as a unit. Replacement internal parts were not available. Am unsure about reproduction internals available today. If you wish to retain this unit for originality, it might can be repaired with some machine work and a few shims if it hasn't been completely destroyed. There have been a number of Buick guys who can perform this operation, myself included. The aftermarket may now offer replacement units and being enclosed no one else will know. Good luck!

Claude your posi CAN be repaired. I have done it several times and even at the track on Basketball Sams GSX right in front of him too. Its not that hard. I even helped Gary Fanning with his over the internet and a phone call or 2. See this.......... http://www.buickperformance.com/82posirepair.htm
