Welllllllll.... yes and no. lol. YOU can if you really have to. But the carrier will be way over to the left about 200 thousand. On a bolt in axle you can get away with it... But we like to try to do things right. See how it goes and if you can not get the pattern in with out it binding you will need to change carriers. i think i might have one of the 2.78 carriers here. If you get it out measure the machined ring gear mounting flanged surface down to the bench surface with ring gear facing up. see what it measures to about 1 3/8 ish? Jim
