Hey guys found a 79-81 Chibby Truck w/ Posi (both axles turn the same way)whole rear end is $50.00 @ a U-Pullit yard . will this chunk work in my 72' 8.5" do I need to get 30 spline axles ? Also ..... Will the spindles / calipers from 78-81 Monte Carlo work in an A-Body ? The yard has a mess o' them . Steve
$50 is a great price. If it is a 10 bolt that should be it. Some late Chevy 1/2 tons had 12 bolts. Should be 3.08 gears, or maybe even 3.73 Look at this http://www.buickperformance.com/posi.htm John
Are those the 9 3/8 12 bolts that came with the centurion, or is it a different 12 bolt unit? If so, can you add the carrier to a non posi axle? Just swap carriers and pinion gears, or are the cases holding the carriers different? Hope I got this right with all the words...
