Well I'm no expert on Buicks but I do run a 455 in Stock Elm. and I've never seen an aftermarket intake for a 455 that was not a lot better than a stock one . They are not only bad they vary a lot from one intake to another and we have to run the right casting # for the year and H.P. and if you get time someday try a few and you'll see what I'm saying is true . Now my car is race only and I'm not worried about the idle and it never drops below 4200 rpm during a pass so I don't really have to deal with low rpms .

Oh man. My sides are sore, Pilgrim!

Jim, stop it! Ed in Kansas is the man with a plan ... and it's all between 4200RPM and redline ... with the Poston ...

many moons ago I put a brand new one on a freshly built 455 - chased vacuum leaks until I was purple. Could never get the carb tuned right. Flung it over the fence and dropped a stocker on (until I got my hands on a B4B) and from the moment I turned the key everything was MUCH better.

Over the years I've heard that the center divider needs to be milled to correct some flow issues - do some research.

... I sincerely hope you have better luck with it Hutch.
