Poston offers 10.25 to 1 forged pistons for $345. Has anyone used these pistons and are they any good?

I've got a set of Poston hyperutectic 2 flat top 10 to 1 with valve releafs pistons I don't need for sale. I'll take $ 200 for them. Summit Racing has TRW/ speed pro forged dish pistons for $373 and moly rings for $77 for the 455. I'm going with these to put in my ATI supercharged motor to replace the poston hyperutectic 2 piston now in it. I haven't decked my block or milled the 70 cast iron heads. Using the stock thickness head gaskets and these pistons will give me an 8.8 to 1 compression which is what I need running a supercharger. If your interested just let me know

Tony at Poston told me the 10:25.1 advertised will acually give me 8.8:1 in a stock 71 motor rebuild. I think there is variation in advertised vs. actual. Call them to get the story.

You have to zero deck the block in order to get closer to the advertised compression. They are probably the Speed Pro pistons like mine. They are widely used but like Poston said, it won't be anywhere near 10.25-1 without machine work. I don't know if it is the same for 70 and older blocks & heads. My engine is a 73 and after JW finished, the ratio was a true 9.95 I believe. Don't forget to do the required machune work for fitting the intake correctly after any excessive milling of the heads and or block! Brian :Smarty:
