Hi, can anyone tell me if they have any experience with the Poston S-Divider for the 455. I haven't heard anything about it, is the manifold out of date compared to newer ones or what?...Soren

If your building a race car I'd say forget the S/Divider but if your building a street motor, around 400 HP or less it will be just fine. My motor makes about 390 HP and it runs the same with the S/Divider as the B4B. Of course the best intake will vary with the combination. I liked my S-Divider when I had it on my Riv.

I say only get it if it is available cheap. And even then, make sure it has the center divider milled down. The original version didn't have it milled and cars would not idle.

If you want to buy it new, buy an SP1 if hood clearance allows, or get a B4B or Performer or Wildcat.

Jeff, how far down was your center divider milled down?

I have the S-Divider on my Regal & the car has never idled well.
I bought mine relatively early in their production run. The divider was milled down some, but maybe not enough...

    Thanks

Thanks for the info guys, I still somewhat undecided on whether to get a dual or single plane intake. Presently my '71 GS Riv is stock; but I plan to start adding some bolt on parts for now and later on I will get a serious rebuild. I thought a dual plane would be more practical on a heavy street car. I also have a '76 Riv that I plan to build. It sure looks like it would make a great pimp-mobile. I would like to eventually get to the point where my '71 will do over 100mph in the quarter. That of course will require a rebuild with about an honest 500hp or so.
