I've heard the S divider doesn't have any gains over stock intake unlesss it has lots of port work don't to it. Only weight savings over stock manifold.

The only difference when I just bolted on my Al intake was the high end. But I have NO port work done, just stage1 heads and exhaust.

    This is with a 455 and B4B.

I have read that an S divider with a 1 inch specer on the carb adds power. I think Jim Burek has mentioned somethings about it on the board sometime in the past.

  5. Roberta/Adam, this is the small block tech forum... :puzzled:

I've heard more positive comments about the TA intake than Postons, but have no personal experience to go on.

Jim Burek will be doing a comparison of the T/A and the Poston's intake when my engine is ready for dyno.

It should be sometime in January. It can't be quick enough for me, but I'd rather wait and have everything done right.

I have an S divider only because I picked it up for cheap at a swap meet. It was like brand new. I have noticed a bit more power upstairs.

I run the stage1 TA intake and I like it very well. Has been on my motor since 99.

I'm interested in these aluminum intakes. Beings how NHRA in their infinate lack of wisdom has eliminated one sportsman class at most events, we're considering items that can quickly turn our Stock eliminator car into a Super Stock car. At most races, our car can run under our SS class index, we just want to make sure that it can at ALL races.

Our engine spends most of it's 1/4 mile rpm in the 5000 to 6500 range. Any thoughts on how these intakes may help us? Of course we will be allowed to port THIS intake.

    TA

I building a 350 for my Skylark and have picked up a TA manifold to go on it. The TA discription in the catalog says, increased air flow at .300" valve lift as much as 5% and 2.3% increase at .600" valve lift. Will give a 25-35 hp increase and improves torque from 0-7200 rpm, and only weighs 16lbs. :TU:

I regularily spin my 350 with the TA intake up to 6000 to 6200 RPM and it pulls like a bear:grin: BUT I had the ports opened up to match my ported heads. When the machine shop recomended this, I called Mike at TA and he sayed it definatley would not hurt opening them up to match:TU: Mark

Mr. Margel, Please inform us when you get the dyno results. I did purchase a Poston one after talking to them, but have not installed it yet. If it is not what I had hoped for, I will buy a TA. Wonder if an Edelbrock would perform as well as a TA on a 455?

    Weight savings

I have heard the main benefit of AL sbb manifolds is weight savings. I think the stock manifold is a pretty decent piece.

Can someone post pix of a stocker next to a TA piece so we can see the outward differences?
