This might be a stupid question, but I just purchased a power bucket seat track for my '67 GS and I am not sure which way the motor is supposed to face. I've seen them mounted in the front and in the back of the seat on seats that are for bid on eBay. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something!
    Please help.
    Thanks!

Supposed to face the front. Also, if the 67 is the same or similar to the 68-72 versions, you will need new bucket seat floor brackets because the mounting points for the p.seat are 11.5" apart and the manual seat is 15" apart (measuring from front to back)

Thanks George! I am aware of the floor brackets. I found them at The Parts Place for about $55. So we are on the same page, the belt cover is supposed to face the front of the car? Has anyone ever done this conversion that can give me a few tips. I'm sure I can figure it out, but any pointers would be appreciated. Also, are these brackets that are available a good quality repro, or does somebody else out there make or sell something better.
    Thanks!

    Michael,

Those appear on Ebay from time to time.

If you want it to look like that, disassemble it and have it glass beaded. THen use clear and you will be set.

Michael--I restored it--it was a pretty clean track to start with but, as George knows, what happens when you get these parts and you have tools (and time) laying around...things start to get taken apart...and stripped...and detailed :Brow:

You do realize that the lower plastic outside bucket seat piece is the same as a regular one---it just has holes cut into it for the two control switch mounting screws and the 4-way "joystick" control---so no matter where you buy one you don't HAVE TO HAVE that part if you already have a clean uncut one.

I may sell this one---haven't made up my mind yet. Patton
