The power steering box on my 72 Estate Wagon leaks like a bad boat. Would it be easier to replace it with another or rebuild it? Is an A body PS box compatibly or is the Estate Wagon a much larger unit. I have access to an A body type but don't know if they are interchangeable. Thanks in advance.

Early A-body boxs may have different stops in it than similiar year B series boxs. IF this is a problem, it would only effect the turning radius slightly. On the stops, I'd have to ask the rebuilder in TX we trade & sell cores to.

A-body p/s boxs also vary. The '64-69 Saginaw boxs really take a lot of turns lock to lock, '70-72 units take less turns than earlier pieces. On a budget, I'd swap pitman arms & give it a try, nothing to lose.

    Got posi?

Hey thanks Roger. I see there are several places that sell a complete rebuilt one for the Wagon, they run around 180 bucks plus core plus shipping. Yikes, hey, are they a pain to rebuild?
