is the whine / squek at the steering endpoints normal ?
i have this since i own the car and after 10 years of restoring its still there,
so i hope it is no problem ...

Usually its the belt squeaking and sometimes a little whine. You are talking about only at it left or right turning limits right? It is pretty normal.
Check the fluid level if the whine seems a bit loud. Any more than normal steering stiffness during regular driving?

yes it is only at the turning limits left and right,
    no problems with regular driving

i think the pump aply more force against the belt at turning limit and then the belt squek,
but i am no expert, so i ask here to be sure :)

If you hold it up against the stops, yes some noise is normal. Just avoid that, easy to do.
