I asked up in the Bench, but got nowhere so I thought I'd ask down here. Anybody know where to get the Power Quarter Window Regulator Rollers for a 1971 Buick Riviera? Mine are so worn out that I cant even open or close the window, it's just kinda jammed shut.

The ones I was pointed to in the Npd chevelle catalog just don't look right. They may very well be, but mine seems to look more like this:

Did change those last year on my 73 (same as 71-72). From the factory they were riveted/welded (like the one in your eBay link) My new ones had a thread, but the threads were too long, so I had to cut off a piece. I will measure the ones (in diameter) I have here later today. There are quite a few GM (and other brands) on the market but they do differ in sizes. So I cannot tell whether the ebay ones are right (they seems to be right though; and if so, the price is OK, for I paid much more for the rollers) Will let you know later.

Thanks man, that's awfully kind of you. I need to figure something out before the crusing season gets into full swing.

Any tips on working on the damn thing? I have small hands but the spaces are tight and I don't want to yank out the back seat.

Or you can wait for the OPG catalog to come out and order from them.

But seriously, I have an extra passenger door with power windows, would the rollers be the same in the door? I bought it just for the sheet metal, and my car has crank windows, so I could be persuaded to dig in and remove the guts if needed. I was planning on removing those parts to sell on eBay anyway. I'll have to take a look. I'm not sure if they are the same. You think OPG would have them?

the one I have here measures .675" (5/8 or 11/16) and is the one that is attached to the arm:

These are the ones for the lower window (diameter is 1"):

I recall taking out the rear seat to get access to the screws to take out the lower side panel; it doesn't cost much time and at least it will make working on the 1/4 window much easier.

Go to your local home depot or Lowes and take a look at the rollers that are on the drawer slides... they are close.....dont know if they could be made to work though....just an idea...:idea2:

Thanks again, I'll get that ordered. As luck would have it, My pinion seal has started to leak a bit, and I'll have to tackle that first.

  9. The ones on eBay are correct.
I have those installed and they work perfectly.
You don't have to use the included rivets, the new rollers can be pressed on to your old rivets.
And yes, you're gonna have to remove the rear bench to get the side pannels off to access the window mechanism.

What a pain in the ass that was! Trying to get all three guides lined up?! Hold the window with one hand, try to finagle the window guides into the right spots. You get it right, but now the window won't slide in, so you get the window slid in and now you can't line the guides up. so you figure I'll get the Window in and then add the roller, nope that doesn't work. So the window slips out of your hand and feels like it severs your finger when it falls! Took an hour and a half at just that one step! Of course now I have to readjust how the window sits using the bumpers. Which is finicky and the best of times. What fun.

    Hey all,
I just noticed this thread, the rollers on eBay are ours so I am glad they worked! If anyone has a need for other rollers you can let us know, if we don't have them now we can usually make them up. We machine some of the threaded studs with the ball on the end for the roller on the 1971-76 GM quarter windows as well as some of the front window rollers. We would be glad to offer more window rollers but unfortunately don't have samples for most cars, if anyone happens to have any pictures (or originals) we would be glad to take a look at them.

    Thanks!
