I'm "considering" upgrading my ragtop (67 Skylark) to power windows this upcoming winter. It seems dumb to spend all I time I did making the power top work.... and then still having to get out of the car to walk around and roll all the windows up/down. ou:  Anyways.... I have 2 questions : 1- I see new "kits" are avaliable for hardtops that include the regulators, wiring, and switches. Will this fit a convertible? I know the quarter glass is different, but are the regulators different too? 2- Will any regulators from other cars fit? Obviuosly any 67 a-body will fit, but during this project, I've been suprised to find that some Tornado parts interchange, and some Firebird parts interchange.... maybe regulators from some strange car will fit??? Thanks! :beer
Rick I cant answer your question but do tell about the what other parts interchange with the firdbird and Olds?
Ed Nothing big... but some weatherstripping seals (forget which ones) interchange from a Toronado and the ragtop anti-rattle plates (door wedges) that bolt to the doors interchange with a firebird. o No:
The power setup fits from a 66 or 67 Skylark, Cutlass, Lemans, Chevelle convertible only. The front door regulators are likely the same between hardtop and convert, but the rear regulators fit from convertible only. Get ready for sticker shock if you find someone who has a setup and knows what it's worth. A set sold on ebay a number of months back for $1850!!! Carl
Well, its good to know that if I ever get hard up for $ I can convert my '66 ragtop to manual windows and sell the power setup for a tidy sum. :Brow:
