tlivingd BIG BLOCK, THE ANTI PRIUS

picked up a 455 it appears to be a factory piston. (inside says buick) now im wondering if the block was overbored (shoulda found out b4 but...) anyways..

the number in the piston is 1237454b now is the B a size desgniation 30 over or something simmliar or just some ID.

also there are two 3/16" wide cuts on the top edge of every piston. is this some other desgniation? (i think one would be to locate the front of the piston) but 2 about 1/2" apart it throws me.

    Thanks.

In a case like that, you can usually tell from the back side of the bearings. They have the size stamped on the back...GM markings would be on stock stuff.

Those pistons sure sound stock too.
