Well after a bunch of deliberation and going back and forth I've decided to just build a new car for the Tomahawk. I couldn't bring myself to cutup the Orange Car and undoing what's already done, so since I had a decent body in stock not doing anything with it made the most sense to build it and return the Orange Car to more of a cruiser. I will try to document as much as possible as I go. Build parameters: 25.5 chassis 315-60-15's on 12in wheels 1 5/8 moly back half Viking Coil overs in rear Stock style front suspension Global West tubular arms Viking shocks 5230 springs Super low ride height Motor plates Engine: 4.38 bore. JE and Molnar 4.25 stroke crower Enduromax 513cid Stage 2 TE heads Hydro cam F1c-94 Blower Custom Intake SRE oil pan and valve covers Fuel injection 93 octane with AIS meth injection Management: Holley HP EFI Holley Dash MSD Grid ignition single coil setup Fuel system: 12gallon cell custom 3gallon meth cell -12 to Aeromotive Eliminator -10 to reg -8 to each rail -10 return 160lb injectors Accufab 90mm throttle body Drivetrain: Th400 with ultrabell and shield UCC Billet converter Fab 9in Brakes: Stock up front with caliper upgrade Rear disc Body: Lightened but not "cut up" full interior, glass hood and front bumper. Also am working on a custom tubular Rad support Smooth firewall Goal: 3200lb 1200+HP Blower is capable of 1400ish Bottom 5's Limited Street useage Then maybe go to an F1x blower if I have the nerve I will be pulling stuff off the Orange Car and have a fair amount of the components accumulated, hope to have engine wrapped up by winter and chassis done by spring and make some passes at the 2018 Nats,...hopefully The pretty solid blank canvas: Once I get the body blasted ,epoxied and the chassis back under it I'll drop the engine in for a mock up photo shoot ha.
That's what it takes to be competitive these days, 6's just don't get it done anymore. I figure 5.50's will come easy then it will start getting stingy,..
Got some hardware on the way, be a few weeks and will have some chassis pics and hopefully some fab work underway. Crank , pistons and rods are under way with a few more weeks to go on them Decided to back half it and go with a Fab9 rear.
Wicked Cool. Glad you kept the street car together, it is a thing of beauty and balance. This sounds like a unforgiving monster in the works. Subscribed.
Man this is just one of many irons in the fire ha The 62 Gasser build is going to be fun, I'm excited to start on it, hope to order the straight axle stuff for it soon too
wow thats interesting I've never had opportunity to delve into involved modifications like that. I have to ask would that not compromise the integrity enough the 2 rails would now move in towards each other? Or am I jumping the gun cause of inexperience and your not done yet lol.
It's going to have a 25.5 cage IE cert to 7.50's they'll be lots of bars throughout the game and body plus it will have a motor plate
