Hugger mocked it up and got everything fit, and tacked together. Then a neighbor of yours helped with the welding. I'm sure Ethan will answer in more detail. It's pretty awesome to see in person. I can't wait to see it in this car.
Yea im hoping my Fab friend will have time to see the intake all up here soon, he's finishing up two 25.5 Mustangs and then he may have time to do it, but the intake has been a fun project. I originally bought an Edelbrock Pro Flo for a 440mopar but it just didn't do it for me, I wanted something over the top and plenum volume was kinda in question in my mind. So he had to die to bring me where it is now, still have plenty to do b4 it's ready to bolt down but in the end it should get the job done
Steve Reynolds at SRE done the intake upper plenum welding along with the oil pan and valve covers. Steve is a true asset in every sense of the word to the Buick Community and extremely reasonable with his rates
That's awesome. I plan on doing as much as I can between myself and my buddy for my car but I may need to look him up. I know at times adapters have been available for the buick to mopar intakes
Don't know how I missed this thread Ethan. Going to be a bad ass ride for sure. Have you thought about going 25.3 instead of 25.5? Only reason I bring it up is I've done a ton of reading about 25.5 vs 25.3 on full frame cars and in some cases the 25.3 is a very similar build while using the frame rails as part of the cage. Added safety, resale value and room to grow being some benefits.
The 440 somewhat fits the TE ports the 383 intakes I think line up better on the SE/stock ports can't say from experience tho. But the 440/TE port combo didn't look like it was going jive IMO , entry angles were gonna be kinda hokey, they could be moved around with the burr and stuff yea , but I decided if going this far I wanted a nice straight shot at the valves
Yea my Fab guy said it will be 25.5 plus some bars , we were talking about going ahead and doing the 25.3 the other week, I can promise you my ass isn't getting anywhere near 7.50's ha the thought of it scares the hell out of me to be honest. 5.20s to 50's is all I care to experience
Intake is coming along, my friend finally found some time to get most of it stitched up, still have plenty more to do like machining the flanges, porting, fuel rails, coolant manifold and a vacuum manifold on the back
