Hello Everyone, I just picked up a 1971 Skylark Custom (I think?) at auction. I haven't even gotten it home yet but I am excited so I wanted to introduce myself. I will have lots of questions, I'm sure, as I plan to restore the car to original condition so all help will be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures of the car. Thanks, Pat
Looks like the "little 'ol lady to church on Sunday" car! And bucket seats too! Looks totallly original. Nice find.:TU: Where are you from?
Congrats Pat! Looks like a great start! Use the forum, there's plenty of guys here who know this stuff inside out! Keep us posted and BTW, more pics the better! Good Luck!
Man nice score. That has granny written all over it. Man what a find 2DR,black seats...that car has a ton of potential.
Saw that on ebay last week. Great that you got it. Looks like an easier resto than most. Good Luck wherever the rebuild takes you...:TU:
Great looking Car!!!! Your are very lucky that you have buckets!!!!! I wish my 71 came with buckets. That dash looks like shes in good condition. Good luck with her!!!! ~Scott
Hi Guys, I got the car picked up. It is definitely an old lady grocery getter but i like it. It could be a great sleeper race car but I think I will keep it stock/restored for now. It definitely needs some body work, lots of little dings and paint chips. I will get some additional pics taken when I get back in town after Easter. Thanks for the warm welcome!!
Don't know where that car is from, but looking at the wheel wells, it is clearly NOT New England! Good luck with the resto/rebuild. My younger brother had a 1970 with the 350 2bbl back in his college days. My mother made me drive with him to Texas A&M his freshman year. I have fond memories of that car and that trip. Welcome aboard!
I have a 71 Skylark Custom that I purchased from the original owner about 12 years ago. My grille is different. I wish my quarters looked as good as yours. Welcome aboard!
