holy cow is that a bunch of Letters !

A collection of Pure Stock cars will be featured at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Event Website

We hope to represent the event well with 12 cars that ran at this year's event. If you have never been to the MCACN, it is the pinnical of Muscle Car shows (event though they also allow Corvettes to enter) :Dou:

In addition to us, there are plenty of other features including a Original Owners corral that will host out own Dave H and his Olds Ram Rod. Features

I am 100% on board, I just attended PSMCDR, loved every minute of it. (third timer-spectator)

I have my hotel booked for MCACN and can't wait to attend. (first timer-definetly a spectator)

In addition to the totally kick ass group you have confirmed, it would be nice to see one or two of the L88 Corvettes, and or ZL1 Camaros. They add a lot to the whole event, with thier 11.492-11.60 second 1320's @ 120+MPH..........I see a nice Cortez number with three peddles each year, and a white ZL1 going by at Mach 1 (Ford pun) but I may be biased towards these cars based on thier country of origin........:)

Another addition to consider would be a Studebaker, PSMCDR would not be the same without all the Studes.......

    In my humble opinion.

I only see 11 cars. Someone forget to tell Jody about the photo op?
Or was that because of his water pump?

well, you know how media shy Jody is..............:eek2:

the water pump broke and he left early.

And a Stude was on the early invite list! We have small blocks, big blocks, automatics, 4-speeds, big bodies, petite models, hood scoops and side pipes!!!!

The organizer of the show is extremely excited about our participation.

The cars are going to be shown as how they left the track, rubber on quarters, markings on the windows, greasy fingerprints on the motor.

If we could, all would have been invited! Have to keep something for the future! ;)

    You guys are ruthless!

I promise to keep Tim out from under the car. And with any luck, the visitor from Louisana will be painting black stripes on the street when leaving!

Will be there with my 73 GS stage 1 SunCoupe in the 1973 display. The picture is right under the pic of Robertas on the MCACN web page.

Just a thought.....to help the spectators understand the PSMCDR thing better and to see how fast they really are, how about putting everyone's qualifying time on their windows too. Hopefully it doesn't look like a bunch of bracket racers~

Although I'd love to be part of the Pure Stock group for this, I'm more than happy to put my car in the original owners class there. Glad I bit the bullet and had the lumps and bruises taken out this year and repainted for its first time. Drove it today and it's still a ball to drive.

Unfortunately, my 66 didn't fare so well in its debut in Pure Stock this year. All indications are a cracked head allowing coolant into the #2 cylinder, so the motor's coming out for tear down. We did a cooling system pressure test today and drove coolant into the exhaust.

So I put it in the trailer and will "think about it tomorrow". Considering building a backup motor for it like I did with the Ramrod as I hate immobile cars around.

I took a copy of my time slip and blew it up a bit, had my computer guy at work highlight my side of the slip and laminated to put in the window for display. Only bad part about putting it on the windows is like you said we may look like we are bracket racing.

The way that MCACN has it in their ad. book and on their site is that we are show cars that actually race. Here is a quote from their site, " If you think that all the cars at our show are "Trailer Queens" you are in for a big surprise. See twelve of the fastest Muscle Cars that appear exactly as they left the assembly line....but with some rubber on the quarters! These show stoppers are used exactly as they were intended, and each is show ready." Rubber on quarters and numbers I think people are expecting but I think people are going to want to see if people with real nice cars actually do this, not just average drivers that may need restoration. I think there is going to be a lot of curiosity and what a great stage to show to so many people a small sample of the cars that actually race cars that show very well.

I understand that we represent everything from drivers to national show quality cars at our race and that makes the event so great but when I look at the quote on their site I am not sure they are looking for dirty cars.

Just wanted to put this out there and looking at it as if I were coming to the show based off of the reading what I would be expecting to see.

    Jody,

The display has been discussed with the event organizers, and they are thrilled that we are bringing the cars 'track fresh'....... The underlying quality of the cars will shine through the dust, rubber, and shoe polish.

Part of the world cannot believe that we actually race these cars. Showing up as we worked/raced the cars adds creedance to our display. There are so many shiney cars that being a little dirty will make us stand out! Some of the most looked at cars are the 'barn finds'.

As Donny stated, the quality of our cars will show through!

On other web sites I read posts by people who say their cars are too valuable to drag race or rev over 5000 rpm or so. These are some of the same people that say the times are unrealistic and the cars must have "ringer" tires. Time to show em what's real. Go get em !!
