    Pump Gas Street Engine Update

Our latest pump gas street engine preliminary dyno pulls:

    625 HP
    604 ft.lbs

A reduction in total timing neted:

    635 HP
    620 ft.lbs.

Final HP numbers with cam timing change and Carb tuning:

    642 HP

    Stock block W/ Girdle
    Weisco Pistons 10.5:1 compression
T/A Stg 2 street eliminator - standard valve - port matched NO porting
T/A Sp1 intake port matched only
    T/A sportsman rods
Our custom grind solid cam Lift 558/543 Duration @ .050 256/262 110 LC
    Custom Dominator
    T/A Timing Cover
    MSD Ignition
    SRE Custom Pan
    Romac Ballancer

This combination utilizes a 1.6 rocker. With the torque and HP numbers so close, a higher ratio rocker would likely increase power. The headers are 2-1/8". The engine idles at 800 RPM. It carries about 10" of vacume at idle. You could increase this if you desired to use more initial timing.

    Nice!

:TU: What ratio rockers did you run? Did you try different ratios to see if it liked more lift? I've see alot of pump gas motors respond well to high ratio rockers. What size headers are you running? Looks like some good numbers for a simple combinaton. It always good to see posts of dyno'd combination. :TU:

Hi Brian, my birthday is coming up on the 21st I wouldn't complain if you gave me one of those motors for a present!!!!! [I wish!!!!!] Just kidding, sounds like a very strong engine. May I ask what the heads flow? Will you be selling cams like that one? It sounds about like the size cam I would like to try in mine some day. Tom
