ATTN GONZO: I just recived my 2004 schedule for Raceway Park, you said you scheduled July 24th as the Pure Stock style race to combine with the Musclecar drags, July 24th looks like just a regular Sat night racing

Another sad note :( Labor Day Weekend used to be a Buick/Olds/Pontiac Weekend and now its only Buick..............see what happens when nobody else shows, but with the break-up of the local Olds Chapter of the OCA here in NJ it probably shot the moral right in the heart :(

    Englishtown

Someone noted this on the Olds board (ROP) and there were a few derogatory comments about Englishtown. Sorry to see the Rallye 350 chapter disappear. They were quite active. Same thing happened with the Performance chapter of OCA years back (not sure if it ever got really going again) and to a different extent OCA kinda stumbled after the Centennial here in Lansing. That sure was something, though.

I saw that Dave, but sometimes its true about Raceway Park, but what it comes down to is $$$$! They're in the business to make it so they need to go where the cash is, its hi-profile track and being that there isn't many around they can only squeeze in so many events a yr :( For me, the track is cool because I'm less that 30 minutes away :) I'm sorry to see the Rallye 350 Chapter go, the Olds weekend (aka Andy Miller Day) was the only weekend Olds felt like VIP, but we also had BOP Weekend every Labor Day but that looks like that's gone too because all the Bs were there, some Ps, and almost no Os :(

    O's

About the only really good events for "O's" are the Mondello meet at Byron, Illinois, in late June (used to be early June) and the Dick MIller Nats at Norwalk, Ohio, in early August. Kinda tough for you guys out on the East Coast, and almost impossible for anyone West of the Rockies, but perfect for us here in the Rust Belt. Pure Stock and FAST are also great for this area. Unfortunately the Byron race conflicts with the 2nd Pure Stock race this year so I won't be at Byron.

We pay for it, though, with our seemingly endless winters. Hope we've turned the corner on the really bad stuff for another year.

Seems to me there was some arguments over whose meet that used to be at E'town. Rallye 350 or Andy Miller. Don't see either of them fighting over it anymore. Guess it always was the race was Andy's and the show was the Rallye 350's.

Hope the FAST meet is a unique event at E'town. Long way to tow to wait in lines in the staging lanes if other things are going on. That's one of the greatest facets of the Pure Stock and FAST races out here. The track is ours. Pretty expensive to rent for only a few people, though.

I hope so too Dave.................@ one time Mondello sponsored the event, he asked the owners of Raceway Park to give him the track for a weekend...............entirely dedicated to Oldsmobiles but the owners wouldn't go for it so that's why he went elsewhere :( He was told they had too many events going on there already and it wasn't worth it to them to make it an olny Olds event, they have Ford only events, Mopar only.................heck there's even an all Honda weekend:blast:
