I'm working on it! Going to measure the trailer this morning and see if the 65 will fit in it.

I just finished the increasing the high clutch feed pressure in the tranny, and am gonna finish dialing in the governor/shift point (it's a ST300) as soon as this snow and salt are gone...

Once thats all done, there's a test and tune day in mid April. I'll make my baseline runs with the Quadrajet, and then I'l be dialing in the AFB for the rest of the summer.

I've got the trailer and RV tentatively locked in - do we know the dates yet? I'm trying hard to make it this year...

That my friends is what it's all about.
This is the kind of stuff that got me into the PSMCDR.

Getting a baseline, then making changes to make my car run the best it can, with what it has.

    My wifes 72 Stage1 is very similar to Dan's 71 455HO.
The first time I brought the car out in 2001, my first pass was a 14.2x something, then the camaraderie began in the pits, and the tuning started to happen, and my best of the weekend was a 13.99.
The car was sold and gone for 10 years, and when my wife bought it back, we did some further tuning, and the car has gone 13.76@100. This is with a low compression 68k mile engine on 87 Octane at 4100 lbs.

This race was started to get people out of their lawn chairs at the boring ice cream shop car shows, to get people to do something with the cars, something they were built for, and a race where a guy who has never been down a dragstrip can learn to drive HIS(or her) car, and to have a great time, all while making great new lifelong friends.

    Thank You Dan and Bob.

I remember watching the episode but at the time I didn't know who Dan or Bob were.

I had a hotel booked for Sept 14-15 in 2001, and 911 changed my plans. (Then I sat on my hands for a decade and didn't actually make it till 2011,Stupid, stupid, stupid)

I have seen your name all over these websites and hope to meet you this year. (I am waving hello in the pic)

I've seen that video too and agree,it is a good one!

I believe that Dan J. was on another show too (Maybe My Classic Car?) I think that the show featured some racing at a stock style drag racing event?

Anyhow..... I fell asleep watching TV on the couch in our living room. when I woke up in the middle of the night ,I opened my eyes to see Dan J's head on the TV . WHOA... That was a very weird eye opener at 3 am...

Anyone else see the show I was refering to?

    Hi Rich, I am great.

You really made my son's day at PSMCDR, you had chips and water and let him sit in the drivers seat. He still talks about it like it was yesterday.

One beef....................I may have eaten the chips but I didn't get to sit in the drivers seat. maybe next year.:TU:

Sounds like maybe we need to upgrade the coupon and take care of that belated ride thing .

You are spot on on the color thing. The Big Bad Colors (Big Bad Orange ,Green ,or Blue) were available in 1969 and 1970. In '69 , they were only available in the Javelins and AMX's ,where both the front and rear bumpers were body color. In 1970 the BB colors were avaiable in a broader model range,to include Rebel Machines and other non muscle types like Rebels and even the Gremlin (I've seen pics of them). The bumpers in 1970 were both chrome on all models, and not body color like in '69. On AMX's in '70 ,you could also order Shadow Mask, which was a semi gloss blackout of the hood ,doortops and it wrapped around on the roof also. See pics below.

I live in Dan V's neck of the woods. He's a great guy and a very talented car restorer.
