I got the numbers off my q-jet and they are as follows: 7943240 Im not 100% sure of the numbers because the insulation of the hood decided to make its way all over me. ou: Can anyone tell me what the numbers represent? o No: Thanks :TU:
Probably 7043240 which is a 1973 Buick 455 with automatic transmission..that's what those numbers would mean.
Your right it was 7043240, I just had to clean it a bit better. What does the "LA" stand for after it? Thanks again George and Smokey. :TU:
LA designates the engine set-up, 49 state emissions or CA emissions. I think it may also designate other info but can't remember now.
702 and 703 as first 3 digits was used in the 60's 704 was introduced in 1970, and as you can see with all numbers: The 4th digit represents the model year. Click here :Comp:
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have that carb list filled out with CFM #'s for the 4 and two barrels? I know there 800 Q-jets, but does anyone know what flavors the two barrels came in and also what CFM the Q-jets for the 350 were? Thanks!
Thank ya sir! Anyone have any ideas on the old 2Jets and 2GC's for flow numbers, too? I'm thinking multi carb setups on those.
Nope 455 auto 7041540 800cfm 455 manual 7041243 800 cfm 455 Stg 1 7041242 800 cfm 350 auto 7041544 750 cfm 350 manual 7041245 750 cfm
By the way when did GM go to that Quadra Jet with the electrical plug on the top of the carb and what's it for anyway? Dave B
As far as I know the plug in on top is a throttle postion sensor and was used in the late 80's STAY away from that one it was the carb used just prior to fuel injection Ken
