    Are you sure there isn't a 1 in front of that number?

  3. No I'm not sure.......I wondered about that too but
    I can't look, this is a via e-mail thing. So if there is a 1 ??

    I came here 'cause I heard you where nice guys and I was thinking that second to last # (4) made it a Buick carb.

    Also the guy I'm checking this out for don't know much, I asked him if the fuel inlet came straight in/out or if it was a
    90* angle and he said he'd have to look in his manual to see what I meant by fuel line/fuel inlet. So that's what I'n working with. :Dou:

    Thanks again........Mike

    IF this was a late 75/early 76 production carb it might be a combination of the two id standards in which case it would decode like this:

    7055041
    70 = prefix from 75 or earlier
    5 = decade production, code for 1970's for 76 or later carbs
    5 = 1975 production year
    0 = monojet for all years? you say this is a 4v quadrajet or just a rochester?
    4 = Buick
    1 = odd numbers means manual trans

  8. THANKS GUYS...........I've got to e-mail this guy back, I'm thinking he not getting the # right.
