My buddy just bought a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II convertible. Good driver, of course it needs work. He's putting in a 440 attached to a 4 speed from his basketcase '69 Superbee, as the car (belvedere) is an automatic (with a '77 Chrysler 400 in front of it, goes really well) but was originally a 4speed car- He's a Mopar guy through and through, he has four right now, but this one runs! One of his old 318s nearly bit off my finger last year, lousy poly motor... :moonu: It is my understanding that it's not east to get body, interior, or other parts for a '66 Chrysler product. Can anyone suggest a place online where I can start looking? I'd like to help him do the little things (many) so he can just enjoy the car for the rest of the summer, and the sooner we find some parts and hopefully some 66 Plymouth chassis manuals, the better. His wife is driving it too, so all the little things had best workou:
66 parts chris, i never looked, but i think there is a moparts.com site that gets used alot. i can tell you that it is a tough car to buy nos parts for. nos mopar of that year is rare & expensive, if you can find it. i've been selling nos mopar for 25 years, and i can pm you with a few good names of vendors, and a couple to avoid. i have very few parts for the 66, most my stuff is older. they do repro some stuff, but the nos is rare. henry
Quality Mopar website?!?!?! Shouldn't they make a quality Mopar first? (Just jabbin' at you Moper guys. Don't kill me:laugh: )
On a serious note try www.moparts.com Frank (fjr340gts) from "The Other Bench" hooked me up over there with a Mopar question. I got many helpful replies quickly.
