What is supposed to be used to install the vertical chrome trim on quarter window glass? I’m installing original trim on replacement glass.
    Thanks

The factory used glass setting tape. Some people like to use urethane and glue it on.

Your timing is perfect. I will be replacing the rubber on both original quarter windows and got replacement chrome trim as well as they look a little rough and I was concerned about the new rubber holding correctly. The kit did come with two rubber strips (see photo) so I assume that is the setting tape or is that in addition to the rubber between the glass and the chrome? Now I have to figure out the safest way to remove the old rubber and chrome. Tips and tricks are welcome! My car is kept at my in-laws so I'll take a closer look when I get that way...

Ok , thanks. When took the strips off the old glass I can see what must be the setting tape. I will see if I can some that is thin enough. I used a block of UHMW plastic and dead blow mallet to get my old ones off , but a block of wood with a nice square edge would work just as well . It was no trouble to remove it.

I used silicon to install the quarter chromes. It worked great & I can remove the chromes much easier, if I had to..
