I have a question that I cannot find the answer for anywhere...lol.

What is a Schilling???? My daughter has a coin that has "Schilling" printed on it... then the number 10 on the bottom.

On the otherside it has "republic" and "osterreich" on it.

Does anybody know what this is, where its from, and is it even worth trying to deposit with the rest of thier change.

Or is it pretty much just good for a "Novelty" piece for the kids to play with :Do No:

    Any help.

    TIA

Hi Jeff. Schilling is from Austria. They now use Euro so I guess its not worth very much. I guess this is the coin you mean:

Sorry but it wont make you rich.

That's an Austrian coin that's apparently been replaced by the Euro.

    Cool... thanks guys.

I wasn't expecting to get rich...lol. (be a nice thought though). Didn't figure it was worth much because someone had to drop it...lol.

4yr old will have fun with the "funny Quarter"

30min of internet searching with no luck, and the answer here in 10min... lol.

    Thanks again :TU:
