o No: Hi, can someone give me a quick coarse in checking pinion angle and what type of tool will work for checking. Will a angle finder from sears or menards work well enough to do this? My 72 has a shake in it right a the finish line and I have had tires balanced and drivshaft balanced and it is still there. I am thinking that maybe the pinion angle is off enough to make rear U-joint shake, but the same U-joint has been in it for years without a problem so maybe it is a tire problem.
I used the bubble protractor from Sears and it worked great. They have the large one for $10. and the small one for $5. The larger one is easier to read, but if you have a driveshaft loop, you'll probably need the smaller one to squeeze in by the tranny.
