I need front springs for my 69 chevelle, (buick, olds, pontiac) all the same springs I'm sure, I'm not really looking to travel to (ten buck two) for these, something in the lancaster PA area :)

    Stop!

Don't let anyone tell you a Chevy spring is a Buick spring

All the motors weigh different amounts, and if you have a/c, the left and right spring are different. For real. GM had pages upon pages of part numbers for springs for each year for A bodies

okay let me ask you this, the front springs that are in my chevelle have knuckles in them, do you think these springs are shot or they okay to use with my front suspension re-build?

Well, my thinking on this is always the same:

If the rest of the front suspension is so bad that you're taking it apart enough to think about replacing the springs..what's the sense in doing it all and doing it right, and then using sporings that may have another thousand miles in them?

personally, I think if you don't replace the springs now you'll be replacing them later, and now is easier if my guess is right- you're taking apart the front end.

Springs are pretty cheap. I recommend talking to some Chevelle experts on a Chevy forum, they know as much about their cars as we do about ours. Hard to beleive Chevy guys know so much, but trust me, it's true :TU:

    No kidding??
    I've never heard that.
I guess I've been lucky through the years and never mixed any up (or at least I never noticed that I did.)

Really? Yeah, the passenger spring is rated slightly higher. Wierd, but it makes sense in a way

I made the mistake of leeting somebody order springs for me once. They ordered Chevelle SS 454 springs for my front end, because 'they're all the same"

Car looks quite odd with the front end up about 1.5" too high. I need to re-do the whole front end myself, with the right springs, but my Riviera put a good dent in my checkbokk last month. At least I have no car payments...
