I want to replace the radio in my 72 GS but haven't been able to find any 2 knob current radios. I don't want to hack up the dash to install one. I want one with a single CD player in it and preamp out so I can run a big external amp. Does any one make anything that will work?
I think the Chebby guys use Custom Auto Sound equipment but I don't think they make anything with a Buick logo on it do they?
If I have to I can hang on under the dash or put it in the glove box but don't want to do that. Thanks Mike D.:Do No:

Custom autosound has several models and Kenwood. For example www.OPGI.com If you have a paper cat. see pp 178-9. They even sell the amps with all the power necessary to incur the wrath of every neighbor.

Those Kenwood radios from OPGI really steam me. I have a 1006 in my convertible, but without the "BUICK" logo. That radio cost me less than 70 bucks 4 years ago. Now they want HOW much for one??:af: :af:

$230?:Do No: I'm with you, Chris! I HATE "OVERPRICED" stuff!:af: They ARE still available for less than $100! NOT from Custom Autosound, and NOT from Year One, OPGI, or anyone else that "jacks up the price", just because they put "their" name on it.
Go to your nearest Kenwood dealer and pick up the current Kenwood Brochure to see ALL the radios that are available. Or go to Kenwood.com to see the same stuff, and find your local dealer from the website, if you decide to buy.

Mike D., Keep looking in this forum for Radio and Speaker installations and conversions (kind of one of my specialties), but there are a LOT of good posts here to help you with what you're trying to do! I've posted quite a few pics here, with Radio and Dash Speaker installation, and Tim R. and BadBrad posted an excellent radio installation instruction with pictures, too. I don't remember the posts, it's been a while, but I find them here, again, from time to time.

Where in the Midwest are you? Maybe I could even help you out, too. I'm near Chicago in the Midwest. Let me know what other ideas you might have.:TU: :bglasses:
