I really like the one that Lares sells. I deal with Earl and he has both for manual and automatic. Very nice quality.

www.larescorp.com I would have to call them, but I am sure they were cheaper than yearone.

I vote for Lares! They provided the new rag joint for my 65 Riviera and it looks great! The metal was cad plated too!

You may find that Lares manufactures the rag joint and provides them to suppliers like Year One, Jegs, Summit, etc. (only by dealing with Lares directly you won't be paying supplier prices).

    Hope this helps,

some of the "repro" rag joints I have seen lately are not quite the same looking as the originals so "ask before you buy". A couple I recently saw from Ground Up Restorations (ss396.com) were not even close in terms of looks. Wrong plating, different looking rivets, etc.

Sounds like this Lares place may be the ticket.

Back in 97 or so I bought 3 GM rag joints (with p/s) from Year One. The part # is 7828871.

No listing on GMparts direct for that #. Must be discontinued.

Chip Woyner sells the GM ones.

    He is at:

    www.powersteering.com

I will tell you that the off shore rag joints are of poor quality and do not fit right....:spank:
