i going to put air bags in the rear of my 67 buick lesabre. i know it will raise the car higher in the back than the front stock ride level. is it advisable to put larger coils in the front? is that even possible? :Do No: what do you gus think i should do. thanks!

Be careful doing that......if you change the ride height by more than about an inch, you'll screw up your steering geometry and no matter how the wheel alignment is set you'll wear the front tires on the sides. The best way to do this is with a special spindle, and I doubt if they make that will fit your car. The chebby one won't fit either. That car is cool enough the way it is IMHO.:TU:

:Smarty: Also do not not forget the expense involved when rebuilding the 3 piece U Joint setup and the hard to find center support !

Have fun but be careful . And be sure you have the extra parts in the garage !! :eek2: :eek2:

    Good Luck ,,,,,,,,,,, :pp :pp

I think what he means is that by raising up the rear, the result will be increasing the angle on the constant velocity u-joints, that could cause problems.

These 2 piece driveshafts are complex and don't like to be flexed to their limits. They are also famous for rubber center bearing supports that rot and need replacement and the cv's can wear from lack of lubrication. You need to grease them with a special adapter and a grease gun every now and then. :)
