    To remove paint on the painted portion,besides careful sandblasting, is their any chemical stripper that will not damage the chrome ? What paint is being used now in the black painted areas? Thanks in advance guys.

    I used Permatex paint stripper on mine. Worked like a charm and didn't damage the chrome
