Hi All, I am thinking about putting on some 15 inch. Buick Rallye Repro. wheels on my 67 Skylark. I have 14x6 (4 1/2) backspacing rallye wheels on now(painted white, ugh) . Will the 15's go right on or is there lug or other issues? I also have disc brakes in the front(70 Monte Carlo) and a posi rear from a 66 Chevelle. Wheel skirts in the back as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

they will go on ok [same bolt pattern], just have to be sure to have enough ride height to clear the 15" tires i did the same thing with the 67 i had last year and i was running some pertty tall 235/70s on the 15' rims. the tires would rub occasionally if i hit a big enough bump, and at full stear as well. but the car looked good and handled ok [for a 67 special with weak springs] :TU:

Yes, I noticed on summit the lead time for the 15"s was 3 to 4 weeks. I think I might stay with the 14"s and just get new wheels, that way I can use the same tires I have on now that are in great shape. Does anyone know if the backspacing has to be exact? I have 4 1/2 now can I go with a 4" backspacing? Can I go with a 14 X 7 to replace my 14 X 6? Don't know to much about wheels, sorry. Thanks for all the help guys!!

I know you have to go with a 14x7 MINAMUM, if you ever do an aftermarket disc brake conversion. Most manufacturers require 15x7, but stainless steel brake corp. (purchased from P-S-T ) allows you to run a 14 inch wheel if your backspacing is at least 4 inches. I am actually running stock 14x6 with a spacer on front to clear the discs. That was a temporary fix, until I get my 15x7's on there. :Brow:

  7. Hey, Mark have you even seen the 67 GS340 at Cumberland Farms in Chicopee at the corner of Prospect and Montcalm?

Let me know how the 15" works out, I'm thinking of doing the same thing as you.

Hi Paul, I have not seen the 67 GS there but I live on the other side of town. Still thinking about what wheels to go with. I just want to make sure 15's will fit. I think if I go with a small enough tire they will. Thanks for the reply!!

I have put 15 x 7's on three of my '67's at one time or another. I currently have them on my poor beat up '67 Special (pictured below) and have never had any problems with clearance; front or rear. There is a lot of wheel well space on these cars, and the 15's fill them in quite nicely. :TU:
