    Hmmm....

    Trans-Am style fender vents?

    turn signal vents (below bumper)?

    How about a hood scoop?

Side pipes and a hood scoop on a boat?

    Ya got me thinking...:Brow:

    Oh god... here we go...

How bout mini portholes in the hood on the narrow vertical sections... you could ditch the insulation and seal off the bottom of the hood... and rig up some connection to the carb..

    Crazy?

Here's what I did on my '71 Riv. Hose/tube is salvage yard part from a 1980's Chev pickup. Piece of aluminum tube (dryer vent) makes transition through core support. Completely hidden. I've since gone back to the origibnal air cleaner that has a smaller snorkel. No problems, air hose just slides over with room to spare. I'm not cheap, just frugal.

I always thought that would be the way to go, get a ton of air in there plus it would look sweet with two big hoses going up to the air cleaner. Probably wouldn't be too hard to fab something up, maybe cut up a junk air cleaner base to accept big round hose or something. Or buy something, but custom is cooler in my opinion.

Rob (75Riv) really should post the photos of his home-made dual snorkel unit, it looks sharp :TU:

I made up a "redneck ramair" setup for my '62. Basically what I did was cut the horn off of the factory air cleaner snout and remov the inner baffle. I then ran a 3.5in flexible aluminum dryer duct down from the factory snout up under the front bumper. That combined w/a K&N filter provided some nice improvements. I plan to eventually remake it out of PVC pipe and wrap the outside in some kind of heat insulator.

Also, if anyone wants pics of my setup, just ask.

In my old 72 I covered up all the holes in the air cleaner, then went straight outthe back through the cowl with a box made out of aluminum, used a kn drop in filter, it worked real good, throttle response picked up a ton, especially on the highway, all I have is old pics, will see if I can get one posted
