Last night making a left on green, a new GMC Canyon clipped my rear quarter/bumper doing ~45mph. As if the loss of my perfect original chromed bumper wasn't enough, my clean quarter has a nice shot to it.

So I call to report the accident, yeah well apparently because I was turning left (meaning I yield on green) and he was going thru the green (with right of way) I'm going to be found at fault :af:

Its definately a grey area, seeing as 99% of my Skylark was thru the intersection and he hit me... ugh, I'm so so pissed off.

This after I just get the car back together and about ready for paint and minor metal work, as a result of this accident in 2004...

Sorry to see that. I had a lady pull right in front of me last week and I had the right of way .........lucky for her I was paying attention to the road. Unlike your GMC Canyon that smacked you. Probably on the phone.

Sorry to hear of the problem, & damage. Doesn't look that bad though, considering what was possible.
I was talking with my Insurance agent yesterday, and ALL the Insurance Co.s he represents have the same Thoughts. ONLY 2 "NO Faults" 1) Collision with Animal, and 2) IF you are Stopped & Rear ended.
Legally, there are others, and we both agree, Insurance Cos. Should follow the Legal standards. (Agent is also a Auxillary Deputy, after retiring from Harris Co, Sheriff's Dept.)

Saw the first picture and went "damn", then I scrolled down to the second without reading and I cringed. You'd think they would figure something out that's better than being "at fault", I slid on some ice and bumped into a car, even had witnesses that said I wasn't acting like a moron and was doing less than 5mph and I still got the insurance bump because I was found "at fault".

WOW, that poor '66 is CERTAINLY worse than mine

I'm still kicking myself for not putting full coverage on the car over summer... they were giving me a hard time about the car in primer, so I thought I'd wait untill paint. :Dou:

you still got it and the repair sucks but isent too bad .. gives you some more time to decide on the color :pp

If you dont do the work your self make good and sure you get a GOOD body man who uses very little bondo

the 66 was in front of my MOMs house in L I

I really think everybody on that streach of road has lost at least 1 car while parked

    which brings me to
stupid people shouldent breath or breed :spank:

live and learn i look every way when approching stop lights and signs

and sometimes sh!t happens and I also think they should make getting a drivers licence should come with a BREAK faiure test iv e had brakes fail on me its no fun :Dou: i was luck i dident hit anyone

poke me if you want to hear that story same car tried to kill me twice :moonu: there shoud be one of these that needs cleaning lol

Ed, that is not true. I work in claims for an insurance company in MN. That is a common misperception. In a comparative negligence state like MN, lots of things go into the determination of who was at fault and to what degree. Just being on the road does not automatically mean you will be considered partially at fault.

Hope you're alright!! The car is replacable, you're not.

JR Wills knows of my brother's incident. The total loss of his T-Type was a bummer. Happened on Sept 3rd...my birthday. He's moved on and a couple of weeks ago, he and my cousin chopped the frame off just behind the front wheels to get the motor out.
