Put on your helmet, shoulder pads, etc. if you go over there and ask a simple question. The inmates have taken over. Most of the helpful people stay quiet or don't bother going there anymore. It used to be good, but got out of control about a year ago. Some people like myself are still willing to offer info or suggestions via email or PM, but rare to see anyone put that out on a forum. Big money and smart asses (sometimes one in the same) have taken over.
Yeah, OK....whatever.....but there are a few smart asses there that are pretty tough on new people that ask questions for help. Guess they think it's cute to make fun of them...didn't use to be that way on there..o No:
Sorry about that, Jamie.......Should have reread that myself...:bglasses: I still think if Olds hadn't shifted from performance to emissions development or maybe hadn't abandoned it altogether, Cutlass would had a different image with the younger crowd as they grew up. That would have made a whole lot of difference in who would be talking on these sites and who wouldn't. ROP seems to be a haven for people that think that all you have to do is be able to spell Oldsmobile (or maybe your father's cousins' dentists' neighbor's cabana boy had one) to come on there and say anything you want on anything, but really don't have anything to contribute or sincerely want to learn something related to Oldsmobiles.....Olds seems to have more of that type than the others and of course, the split between OCA and the people that race their cars (or don't have a problem with those that do) really hurts, too. ROP used to be self policing, but isn't anymore. The radicals have taken over....that has a nice ring to it, where have I heard that before? o No:
I agree. I will admit to not always being nice on there, but it kind of brings it out of you there. I am on a lot of different forums for different interests and none of them would put up with the asshattery that goes on there. So I go there less and less. It would be nice if there was an Olds site that was civil and had good tech stuff, but the "Olds performance" sites don't seem to be it.
