I got some replies to my other post, but I still need help. I need to get the harmonic balancer bolt out but can't. I can't do the rope thing because the heads are off. I can't do the thing with the flywheel because the engine's out of the car. Just FYI, the engine is on a stand, with nothing left on it but the front cover ( and harmonic balancer:rolleyes: ). Please!!! I need help!!!

Put a couple of flywheel bolts on the back of the crankshaft, then a long bar through them, have somebody hold the bar and you loosen the balancer bolt.

If the pan is off, just stick a hammer handle between the block and a counterweight on the crank. Then take the breaker bar to the bolt.

air impact gun popped it in 1/2 sec with heads off

i tried to do it with the heads on by jamming a screwdriver into the flywheel while on the stand and i broke the screwdriver

Impact Driver Tool and a big hammer should work, in case you don't have air.

I finally beat the damn thing!!!!:spank: I ended up so frustrated that I didn't mind moving backwards, and just stuffed a cylinder with shop rags and put one of the heads back on. It worked on the first try. Thanks everybody for the ideas.:beer
