It's a crying shame it doesn't have it's original engine. Very clean car. I love that color! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973...3484251?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4abcb3dddb
The seller at the auto fair was asking $14k. I called Lee and he is asking $12.500. Race Lutz sold this car to Tom Baker, I bought it from Tom and did the restoration then sold it back to Tom who sold it again. It is a nice car, but the interior could use some help. Door panels, dash and other dyed parts did not turn out well. Ed ---------- Post added at 05:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:55 AM ---------- It is actually the same car in my avitar. That w as around 1989.
One of the many reasons I like the Buick community, we are all connected to these cars and talk to each other. Anyone looking to buy this car would have all the info needed to buy it over the phone......nice :TU:
Doesn't this car have a 400 in it now instead of a 455? I remember talking to Tom about it a few years ago when it was for sale at Streetside Classics. I know it had a 400 in it then. I believe I have pictures of this car at BG in the late 80's when it was red. I think Race Lutz's son owned it then but I might be wrong. Mike
The car is in really nice shape, what was the original color and what happened to the XS engine? That's the code for Stage 1 engines in 73.
I have to agree. When I was a kid someone on one of my paper routes had a maroon 73 Stage 1 that I paid almost no attention to. It was a maroon car with a white interior and loaded with options. Would be curious to see what happened to it.
I talked to the owner last year. He said it had a '68 400 cid motor and that the 455 was gone. He wanted $12,000.00 then. I thought the car looked good from the photos he posted. Pat Neil 1973 Stage 1 auto 1973 Stage 1 4 speed Suncoupe
Three weeks ago I bid on a Charger that Lee had. Reserve was 25K, I was second high bid at 23.5K and at the last minute the high bidder who hat hit the reserve of 25K withdrew his bid. That left me high bidder, Lee and I talked and we made a deal at $23.5, he took a $500 credit card deposit and said he would send wire directions in the morning. Very cool, I just bought a Charger. Next morning Lee calls to say he got a call from another person watching the auction and he had an offer for $25K and if I wanted the car now, I would need to match that price. Out of sheer principle, I declined and said no way we had a deal at $23.5. He wont honor it. The next morning I see the car back on Ebay. So much for his other offer, he was just looking to make a few more dollars even after he had accepted the deal and took my money. He talks up a good story, but in the end he is just another dealer
Took your deposit and then backed out of the deal because he wants more money!!! Did he refund your deposit?
