I need to remove and replace my rear main seal on my 69 350. My question is how do I get the bearing cap/seal cap off? I removed the two bolts but it doesnt seem to want to budge. Plus there are two little bumps close to the edge of the top that appear they could be the top of pins? Is this top cap also pinned in place? I sure hope not. but what are the tricks to remove this top cap so I can replace my rear main seal? Thanks.

Stick two screwdrivers in the bolt holes of the maincap and squeeze the handles together. This will give you the ability to pull up on it without prying anywere. A little gentle rocking back and forth will probably be necessary as well.

  3. Those 2 little bumps are the ends of the side seal pieces. They insert into the sides of the cap.
