Well, I thought I'd post this just in case anybody else runs into the same problem. I kept experiencing a leak at the rear seal in my 400 and it would fling tranny fluid up under the body when I drove around, and then leak out when it sat. I pulled the driveshaft out and replaced the rear seal and noticed that it was real saturated around the u-joint at the yoke. I thought it was just from the seal flinging fluid on it. Well, I drove around after replacing the seal and it was still doing the same thing.:Do No: Turns out, there is a bushing in the extension housing that is the MAIN seal aft, and there is also an o-ring on the output shaft that seals the yoke, and if that o-ring is bad it will leak at the back of the yoke. Maybe I should have read a little further before jumping in huh? But hey, now I know and now it doesn't leak. Cheers!
