While trying to fix my brake problem on my 1971 Skylark I noticed that the rear springs I had recently installed were not put in the same. It appears one of them is upside down compared to the other. By this I mean that the end of the spring that has the coils closer together is facing up on one side and down on the other. Car rides OK and I wouldn't have noticed had I not been looking at both sides at the same time. Is this OK or should I switch one side to match the other?? If so which is the proper end up??

    Hi

I just installed my rear springs with the coils closer together on the top towards the frame and not on the rear end. This springs are cargo coils springs and I believe the direction noted to put them in that way too.

BTW-they should be installed the same way.
