Hi , I were offered this week a pair of nice rear "short"well molding to put on my 68 Skylark custom . I actually have skirts and I consider to take them off. Since I have the molding from bumper to bumper on the side of the car does it take my a "short" well molding ?

What about the front ones ? Do you prefer with or without front well molding ? The guy have them too but I won't put the rocker molding .

Do you have some picture of your (or on the net) car with those rear well molding ? 68-69 car to help myself for this "important" decision . Thank you for your time

In fact what I wanted to see is some example of cars who have the side molding w/o the skirts , because I'd like to take my skirt off and put a rear well molding that a guy offer me last week . I'd like to see what I could be like ... :bglasses:

    Thanx

I finally bought those "short" moldings but stilll one problem left .... the molding on my cars before and after the well are too long (about 3/8 to 1/2) it cause overlap with the rear well molding .... I wonder how could I shorten those molding now :Do No:

    Molding question

Ok ... I finally have the moldings in hand (picture) , the questions now is ......

How does I fix them on the car ? Is it a particular way to instal them corretelly ? screw from left to right ? Both end first then middle ? etc ...

I'm looking for the front wheels only for this time .
Thank you for your time !

Im gonna guess you didn't get repoies because nobody knows !! I've owned aobut 12 68''s/'69's and none of them have had the skirts. Looks like you did a good job on the fronts - YearOne I believe sells the stainless steel screw's if you just used what was handy.

I like the skirts - because they're so rare. Never would have thought the side trim was different length piecces for skirt cars vs. non-skirted. Prolly your best option if you are looking to go Skirtless is to find another set of trim and see if they're a different length than what you have.

Mike Garrison is selling 68-69 Sky stuff in the fore sale forum.......

Here's a pic of a 69 Sky I used to own with the side trim and the half mouldings

i remember when almost every car on the road had fender skirts . i learned to hate them when i became old enough to wash my dad's cars , which alway had skirts . they were difficult to remove & mud & crap always laid in the lips . finally persuaded my dad to stop ordering fender skirts after 1966 . prefer that open look , like the pictured ragtop .
