Anyone know about a red GS with a white top sitting on West Squantum Street in Quincy, MA?

The car has sat on the street for at least the last 3 years in the same spot.

    It is slowly rotting away.

    Someone should save it.

Across from the the golf course?

It's a '70 GS455. The owner has a '71 (I think) Riv GS that he drives (or drove, haven't seen him for a while and I don't get to Quincy much these days), and another '70 GS I beleive

About three years ago (the car's been sitting there for more like six years, actually) I stopped by and talked to the owner.

The long and short of it was at the time- he blew the motor, wants to re-do the car. I told him, cool, here's my phone number, I can get another 455 into your '70 in an afternoon if you have the tools.

Haven't ever heard back from him.

The car's getting old, I'm afraid. Owner's a nice guy, but I can't recall his name

Sounds like the guy I sold a 67 Electra Convertible a few years back. His name was Rich...last name began with a G.... and had a bunch of Buicks and some Caddy's too. This guy was from the same city.

Hey Guy"s, I took a ride and checked out this car today. Talked to the owner for awhile. A nice guy, just that same old sad story, he had planned on restoring the car but never got around to it.He has a few other buicks (71 centurian convert) and said is brother has around 30 cars :eek2: Old caddys and buicks. The car that is sitting in front of his house is 70GS455, Red,Blk interior, looks to be dyed and originally wht and a wht vinall top. The poor car just sits there and gets blasted with salt, snow and mud from the plow trucks. Both quarters are very rusty and need to be replaced.Core support rotted, underside of hood has alot of rust, grille is cracked, front hood chrome missing. The engine is blown, not sure how bad.Looks to have plenty of rot around rear window under the roof. This car would need a ton of body work to bring it back. The owner was looking for around $4,000 :eek2: ,when I got there and around $3,000 , by the time I left. I could check it out again more thorough, underneath in the trunk etc. Too big of a project for me,but it is worth saving at a more reasonable price. The tuff part is the owner is not really selling the car as he has had quite a few people stop buy and look and leave their phone#s. The owner has had the car for years and he is a very nice guy, but it is not worth half of what he wants for it and will continue to rot on a very busy street untill some city plow or trash truck smashes into it puts it out of its misery!!!! :ball: :ball:
